After last weekend's tri-state expedition, we have yet another ride for the books. The Fox River straddles the Western edge of Chicago's suburbs, passing through historic downtowns such as Aurora, St. Charles, and Elgin. We will begin with the classic urban commute to Palos before hopping on the Centennial Trail, which serves as a bike superhighway out of the city. Rural roads will then take us to the town of Oswego, the Southern Terminus of the Fox River Trail — a nearly 30-mile (!) paved bike path with plenty of opportunities for lunch. Return will be via the Metra from Elgin to Union Station, followed by a jaunt back to Hyde Park for a total mileage of 90mi.
